I have been blending the unblendable. Every time I make this smoothie Trey or my boss make some crude comment about mud, sewage, or poop. I know these comments are not turning you on to the idea of making it, but I am obsessed!
I always feel a cold coming on when the seasons change. I don’t usually get sick in the dead of winter, normally I do when the temperatures change tumultuously. Changes in weather play with the emotions of my immune system like a high school boyfriend, I can’t deal with the ups and downs! This smoothie kicks all those symptoms in the butt. It is jam packed with every cold fighting ingredient there is. By combining the magical powers of blueberries, spinach, banana, cocoa, orange juice, and greek yogurt, I think the pro-biotics, vitamins, and antioxidants annihilate every bad germ left in your body. Do not be afraid of the spinach, I promise you cannot taste it, and it adds an extra serving of greens you might not have had.
Antioxidant Smoothie:
1/2 frozen banana
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1/4 cup fat free vanilla yogurt
1/4 cut fat free greek yogurt
1 heaping tablespoon of cocoa powder
handful of spinach
splash of orange juice or vanilla soy milk (sometimes I use both)
blend.
This puppy tastes like a chocolate shake, and gives me more energy than a cup of coffee. It makes me productive, full, and happy!
I drank one of these every morning leading up to my 22 mile run this weekend and felt great! We were supposed to just do 20 and I still had the energy to tack on a couple extra to help mentally prepare for the 26.2 in just a few weeks.

can you spot me to the left? I am blurry in all these pictures because I am running just sooooo fast. not.
I felt great about the run and had an average pace of about 8:06, we will see how well I do with another 4 miles on there but I feel ready and excited to finally taper!
For all you runner folks, what do you normally eat/drink to prepare for your runs? I tried some oatmeal with mashed banana in it the morning before the 22 to have some carbage in my bod and it seemed to do just fine. What tricks do you use?

I usually drink panda blood and baby dinosaur eggs.
I just drive. -Jty
I’ve been running a lot lately, but wow I don’t think I could handle a marathon! Impressive! I normally just eat something small before I go run, like a banana and cereal or something along those lines. It honestly depends because depending on my schedule, I run different times every day. I like to drink smoothies after as a post-exercise kick.
