If you aren’t living in RVA right now you’re clearly not drinking the kool-aid for the Steven Spielberg movie, Lincoln.  It is literally being shot in front of me, no, not because I am not an extra, lets be real there were no half asians in Lincoln’s entourage, but my office window overlooks the capitol.

I feel weirdly like TMZ, but there are so many celebz in RVA right now I have my eyes peeled everywhere I go, camera ready.  However, since pretty much any older bearded man with a hat on looks like Steven Spielberg, I have had a lot of false double takes.  In addition to this famous director Daniel Day Lewis, Tommy Lee Jones, Sally Field, and Joseph Gordon Levitt are all in Richmond.  Apparently Levitt, my favsies, has been spotted at some of my favorite spots; The Camel and The Black Sheep.  I have this fantasy that I run into him and we sit on a bench and he draws the RVA skyline on my arm like he does on Zooey Deschanel’s in 500 Days of Summer:

I went for a walk around the set on Sunday and they really have transformed Capitol Square.  They dumped tons of dirt on the road to make it look more authentic:

I am sure all the Son's of Virginia on the monument are like wtfffff why is all this dirt here!!

They are constructing houses, storing canons, and even built a facade in front of the capitol to make it look more like White House did at the time:

They stopped mowing the lawn and brought in tons of bags of leaves to make the set look more realistic:

The coolest part is that Daniel Day Lewis is a method actor, meaning he is IN CHARACTER ALL THE TIME.  He is living in Churchill and some of my friends have talked to him and they said it is like they are just chillin’ with Abraham Lincoln, nbd.  He also has a very fun beard right now:

I for one am excited the see the movie since I have seen the progression of the filming while getting distracted from work.  I just hope I get to see one of these all star cast members before they stop shooting on December 19th.
