Today the sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and I just ate two muffins, life is looking up! The tides are changing! The last two weeks have been incredibly tumultuous with my weird ulcer problem, stolen computer, my professional life taking a massive shift, I also found out some crucial information about a dear friend, and yesterday for the first time in my life my car ran out of gas and I had to be pushed by a team of ironically attractive chivalrous men to the gas station. Throughout everything I have been oddly calm. Sure I cursed like Ke$ha and definitely violated “Alcohol Free April” a couple times, but you can’t have the good without the bad. Sometimes when things are just horrible you know that life won’t t go on that way forever, and that things will have to turn around. That in itself is something to look forward to!
In that vein I am excited to announce my first blog Give Away Winner is Gonzi!!! Gonzi has his own yummy tumblr dedicated to delicious food in Richmond, check it out and follow him on twitter @gonzi. Congrats also to Chef Francis Devilliers of Bistro Bobette for winning Best Chef in Richmond. It is well deserved and I knew he would win, but thank you lovely readers for voting on my favorite Chef!
Bistro Bobette participated in the RVA Street Art Festival which consisted of dozens of famous artists coming to RVA to paint murals on our flood walls, restaurants, and old buildings…I took a ride downtown to check it out:
I couldn’t get over how amazing these murals were, I loved how they were all very different but you could literally stare at each one for hours. It was almost hypnotic watching the artists.

this is also part of the installation...not sure what is going on but they guy was very very eccentric and apparently him lying there with all of that is his art...whatever more power to ya!
Love all of the new art in Richmond! I can’t wait to take the tour of the new murals!

Brit I’m sorry you have hit a rough patch, but I’m glad hanging upside down made you better. If you need a vacation you got one in Breckenridge.
